What is Lifestyle Medicine?

Lifestyle medicine practitioners employ primarily lifestyle interventions, not medications or drugs, to help you improve health and prevent disease.  Lifestyle interventions include physical activity, eating healthfully, quitting smoking, mindfulness practices, and other behavioral, environmental and motivational strategies that promote health.  Lifestyle medicine may be prescribed along with traditional medical therapies or may be used independently.

Lifestyle medicine has been shown to improve quality of life and reduce disease risk for multiple medical conditions, including diabetes, obesity, coronary heart disease, anxiety, back pain, depression, cancer, and others.
